When Link Exchanges Turn Into Bad Neighborhoods

Sites expire and new people take over sites which were once respectable and create search engine spam. Both directories and link exchange pages need to pay attention to changes in sites they link they link to.

If you are running a directory, the term given to these links that change is called link rot. But, it is not just directories that need to be concerned about link rot. A perfectly good link exchange which was good can go bad – and result in sites linking to bad neighborhoods.
